Solsteinhaus
The Solsteinhaus was erected over 100 years ago on the Erlsattel (ridge), between the Großer Solstein summit and the Erlspitz group of mountains. It has been renovated several times over the years and now provides tired hikers with a high degree of comfort.

Robert Fankhauser, from the well-known Stubai mountain hut dynasty, has been running the Solsteinhaus with his wife, Jenny, since 2008. Climbers of all levels will find something suitable on the Erlsattel, and the so-called “mountain holidays” are a really popular way for families to learn all about life in the mountains. The Fankhauser family lays weight on good working relationships with local agents and with the Karwendel Nature Park, and Robert was instrumental in creating the Karwendel High Alpine Trail.
