Pfeishütte

The rustic Pfeishütte lies at 1922 metres at the end of the valley, the Samertal. The hut is surrounded by craggy mountain peaks, including the Rumer Spitze, the Stempeljochspitze and the Bachofenspitze, and the sun terrace is the perfect spot to sit and admire the natural world in all its glory.

ALPINE ASSOCIATION HUT – LISTED BUILDING

The Pfeishütte has had protected status since 2016 but there is more to it than just rustic rooms used by legendary mountaineers, such as the so-called “Karwendlern”, and the replica dormitory from the original build. While the inside is all about history, the outside is all about the natural surroundings. The largest snow grouse population in the Karwendel can be found around the hut and various other alpine animals can be spotted from the terrace. There is also a small information point with details about the geology.
